Tetraploid Annual Ryegrass is a true annual bunchgrass that produces high-quality, protein-rich forage for all types of livestock. It has excellent palatability making it a common pasture grass and is widely adaptable for grazing, green chop, hay, inter-seeding, and as a quick-growing cover crop. It is tolerable of heat and does well in irrigated applications and a variety of soil types. Tetraploids, as opposed to diploid varieties, are more palatable, are broad-leaved and have a higher forage yield, and are more resistant to diseases making them the commonly preferred variety for livestock grazing.
